Leicester is a vibrant, multicultural city in the East Midlands, home to the Premier League football club Leicester City. Leicester Cathedral, constructed around 900 years ago, is the heart of the city and county of Leicestershire. In 2015, King Richard III was buried there following the discovery of his remains.

This sparked a renewed in interest in the city, and the cathedral is open to visitors wanting to find out more about King Richard’s story. Art lovers can visit various galleries, including Leicester Museum and Art Gallery. Leicester has a lot to offer in terms of culture.

The Curve is a state-of-the-art theatre opened in 2008 by Her Majesty The Queen. The theatre is managed by charity the Leicester Theatre Trust and is committed to providing inhabitants and visitors of the East Midlands with theatrical entertainment.

Leicester is also home to the National Space Centre, which attracts visitors from all over the UK and beyond, and on top of that it’s also a fantastic, food, drink and shopping destination. At Highcross shopping centre, you’ll find over 100 stores – but don’t worry, there are plenty of places to stop and recharge with a coffee or bite to eat, from Costa and Starbucks to Nando’s and Pizza Express. Leicester has it all!
